There are 3 key words for MISHOP Activities : Exchange, Understanding, and Assistance.

We at MISHOP base our activities on these 3 words for opportunities to make Mitaka a town where people of many cultures can live together.

Exchange

Exchange
To have mutual understanding among nationalities and their cultures, the fi rst thing to do is to communicate and try to understand each other. Come enjoy yourself with people from various countries and areas.
We at MISHOP carry out various types of exchange activities, from a small-scale, regular get-togethers to a big event such as the International Exchange Festival. Not only can you participate in such events, you can also involve yourself in planning and managing such projects. There are many opportunities available for international exchange here in Japan without having to go abroad. Why don’t you take your fi rst step with MISHOP?

Understanding

Understanding
In order to live together with foreign residents in our community, it is important to have correct understanding of the cultures of their countries and of their ethnic groups. Let us apply the mutual trust cultivated with foreign residents through international exchange programs toward a deeper understanding of existing cultural differences.
MISHOP organizes lectures by specialists, courses to learn languages and cultures, and children’s classes for multicultural understanding, so as to provide opportunities to broaden international viewpoints. Won’t you come and learn with us about topics that concern you?

Assistance

Assistance
Not a few foreign residents in Mitaka might feel uncomfortable in daily life due to language barriers or a lack of knowledge about the local culture and customs.
MISHOP helps all our foreign residents live safely and comfortably through various programs in cooperation with our volunteers. Please don’t hesitate to drop by MISHOP, when you need help in solving problems with Japanese language, issues in daily life, or anything else you are confronted with.
