The lecturer will talk about the importance of multicultural coexistence and specific issues based on her experiences and knowledge based on her overseas research in the United States and Taiwan, and the life history of Taiwanese women during the Japanese rule. In addition, we have invited a guest speaker from Russia to talk about not only the relationship between hostile countries between Russia and Ukraine, but also the perspective of human connections and exchanges.

Professor, Institute of Global Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Her specialties are foreign language education (English, Chinese, Japanese) and cognitive science. She graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies with a master's degree in Chinese, and after training at Peking University and Fudan University, she received a doctorate (linguistics) from National Tsing Hua University. She has studied as a visiting scholar at the Asian and African Studies Institute, University of London, Harvard University, and Taiwan University. At Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, she is in charge of student exchanges and research exchanges with universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Taiwan, as well as TUFS* open academy courses and public lectures.

Tikhonenko Maxim
Graduate student at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies
After completing a master's degree in linguistics and translation studies at Chelyabinsk State University, Russia, she studied second language acquisition (English speaking education and evaluation for high school and university students) in the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Global Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies as a Japanese government-sponsored international student. ) and is also active as an English teacher. In her native Russia, she has also worked as an English translator and Japanese teacher.
*The lecture will be in Japanese.
